VALERIANO HERNÁNDEZ ABOGADOS was founded in 1991 and represents the traditional liberal concept of the legal profession. We practise law bearing in mind our social responsibilities and not just as a business providing legal services.

An important feature of our firm is that we are a general practice rather than specialising in any particular area of the law. Experience is of course an important factor, but relying solely on experience tends to lead one to judge the future according to the past, which is frequently a mistake. This is one of the reasons why we do not believe in specialisation, which is based on repetition.

Another reason is that few legal problems can be resolved by applying only one branch of the law. On the contrary, many cases present various different aspects that require the connection of diverse bodies of legislation to be properly analysed. This result is obtained by means of qualified lawyers with general experience who understand the legal system as a whole.

So, we do not exclude any legal problems from our law practice. In fact, it might be said that complex cases are our speciality. On more than a few occasions we represent other law firms or lawyers who present us with unexplored legal questions that are not covered by any fixed legal doctrine or case law from the courts.

Our firm habitually acts in courts at every jurisdictional level within Spain and also before the European courts and international arbitration tribunals.
